Technical Writer

As a technical writer, your goal is to help users work efficiently with the groundbreaking tools Genvid builds. With your solid knowledge of content management and technical communication best practices, you’ll use your curiosity and technical savviness to create compelling copy for your audience.

As a member of the Technical Communications team, the ideal candidate will interact with developers and fellow writers on a daily basis. Work very closely with the code, and will get familiar with the different use cases to create a realistic narrative in the completely new world that is the Metaverse.

Reporting to the Team Manager- Technical Communications the ideal canadidates task and responsibilites will include but not limited to: 

  • Research and synthesize complex concepts
  • Write and revise technical content
  • Organize topics to maximize information flow
  • Collaborate with peers and SMEs
  • Participate on sprints and publish documentation in sync with each release
  • Define terminology
  • Act as an advocate for an excellent user experience
  • Use authoring tools efficiently 

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Fluency in French & English
  •  This role will partner with peers and colleagues in US therefore will require English Proficiency
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical writing or equivalent education and experience combination
  • 3+ years in technical writing and/or API documentation
  • Knowledge of Technical Communication industry’s best practices
  • Excellent English writing skills
  • Knowledge of Sphinx and/or MadCap Flare is an asset
  • Curiosity and willingness to acquire product knowledge and learn new skills
  • Ability to express complex technical information in a clear and concise manner
  • Excellent aptitudes in communication
  • Proficiency in French


  • Knowledge and experience in the gaming, multimedia and/or web services industry 
  • Knowledge and experience of cloud providers like AWS, Azure and GCE
  • Creative problem-solving capabilities
  • Demonstrated success autonomously managing complex projects that require input from many stakeholders
  • Start-up Experience
