Live Operations Engineer

Reporting to the Live Operations Manager, the Live Operations Engineer is responsible for the on-going support of our solution in various cloud hosted environments and run mission control for live events. The ideal candidate will be behind the scenes and on-call to deliver a smooth production during critical broadcasts

in this role the ideal candidate’s day to day responsibilities include but not limited to: 

  • Investigate and understand the root cause of any issues that arise in live operations
  • Develop corrective actions to solve the operations issues
  • Initiate continuous process improvements to improve operational effectiveness
  • Provide engineering support to operations team in achieving business operations goals
  • Support, monitor, and maintain events and demos in a 24/7 environment.

Experience & Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant computer science, technical or analytic field
  • 3+ years of proven experience in 24x7x365 Operations, NOC, on-call or similar role 
  • 3+ years experience of Linux and Windows server systems
  • 2+ years Strong knowledge of AWS and/or other cloud services
  • 2+ years experience in development/scripting languages: Python / Javascript / Go / Powershell / Bash 
  • 1+ years Experience with Dashboarding and Metrics tools (ie:  DataDog, Grafana, TICK)
  • 1+ years Experience with Log Management and Query systems such as the Elastic Stack or Splunk
  • 1+ years Experience with Atlassian Jira, Confluence and G Suite tools
  • Ability to think fast and have a hands-on approach
  • Ability to take on-call shifts as needed
  • Strong sense of responsibility 
  • Ability to work in remote environment


  • Start-up Experience 
  • Familiarity with using/leveraging JSON
  • Experience with Hashicorp Stack (Consul, Nomad, Vault, Terraform, Packer).
  • Knowledge of source control systems such as GIT, Perforce or others
  • Knowledge and experience in the gaming, multimedia and/or web services industry
