Genvid is seeking a Vice President, Growth who is ready to bring our form of interactive entertainment called MILEs (massively interactive live events) to a huge audience. The successful candidate understands and has experience building a highly scalable global growth function in a fast-moving industry; brings significant understanding of what is required to develop a team, KPIs/metrics, channels, audiences and budgets; has a proven track record in driving global demand generation and critical lifecycle metrics.

This role reports to Genvid’s President and Chief Marketing Officer and collaborates closely with the rest of the marketing team (Brand & Franchise Marketing, Community, Creative, Customer Support, Business Intelligence/Data, Global Publishing Platform, PR/Comms) as well as development/design/product and monetization teams and external partners. 

Working with executive leadership, this person will be responsible for establishing and updating the core KPIs and success metrics that drive the overall revenue model in our direct-to-consumer business. The candidate will develop strategies that leverage data-driven marketing across acquisition/paid media and  lifecycle/CRM channels to achieve those metrics.  The VP Growth develops and maintains the marketing budget and has experience building commercial models from the ground up.

The position will require deep expertise in cross-channel demand creation including programmatic/display, search, social, SEO and app store marketing. On the lifecycle side, the successful candidate will need to have expertise in segmentation, audience lifecycle journey creation as well as channels including email, in-app messaging, push notification and SMS. All performance marketing is owned and optimized by this executive to meet cost per acquisition goals and outbound marketing lifecycle goals. In-app monetization design and events are powered by our Product and Monetization team; this role will own the targeted amplification of monetization events via outbound channels. 

We are looking for a strategic yet execution-oriented, data focused leader with strong digital marketing experience. This person is relentlessly focused on optimizing core KPIs through data and knows how to implement a robust test-and-learn strategy.  The ideal candidate also has a deep understanding of the tools and instrumentation needed to achieve a state of scalable and automated data-driven marketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain commercial plan laddering up to Company core business goals
  • Define, measure and optimize KPIs for acquisition, retention/cost per acquisition and lifetime value, in collaboration with our executive and Product teams
  • Build a team of acquisition and retention specialists from scratch 
  • Instrument along with our Global Publishing Platform team the entire out-of-app (advertising, landing pages, emails, in-app/push notifications) user experience with an eye towards full-funnel optimization, improvement on cost per acquisition and lifetime customer value
  • Develop and manage all outbound marketing channels from acquisition (search, social, programmatic, etc.) and retention (email, in-app, push, SMS) and collaborate with Community/Organic social to pull into the overall mix, including working with the team to establish a performance lens on those activities. 
  • Publish and analyze regular reports around CPA, LTV, conversion rates, cross-sells; make proactive recommendations around improvements and optimizations; keep leadership and stakeholders apprised of performance
  • Work with platform partners (app stores, consoles, PC game stores) to optimize their channels to drive acquisition and retention with a performance lens.
  • Drive marketing technology stack requirements to ensure scalable marketing automation and best-in-class operation (in partnership with our Global Publishing Platform team)
  • Set growth insights and analytics with our Business Intelligence team. Apply a test-and-learn methodology and hold-out group testing to guide demand generation and retention strategies.
  • Work closely with our in-game Monetization teams to amplify in-app events that drive average revenue per user metrics as well as conversion metrics through marketing automation of outbound channels through testing and data. 
  • Set media attribution approach and implement necessary tools to measure and inform buying
  • Continually evaluate and rethink performance, strategies and tactics to hit and exceed KPIs 
  • Be a team builder and team leader - know how to coach, mentor and engage new and existing staff members

Education & Experience :

  • 10+ years of performance/growth marketing experience within the Games, Direct-to-Consumer Entertainment, Insurance or Airline industry
  • 5+ years of experience in leadership roles, managing high performing teams
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Proven track record of building a performance marketing/growth department
  • Experience delivering on KPIs around cost-per-acquisition, lifetime value and other key metrics/ROI goals
  • Deep experience in App Store, SEO, SEM, Display, Programmatic, Social, In-App, Email, SMS and other direct marketing channels
  • Fluent in database marketing, data/analytics, audience segmentation and using the latest tools and technologies to optimize performance
  • Knowledge of third party demand generation platforms including Meta, Google, Twitter and other DSPs
  • Experience with tools such as data visualization (Adobe, DeltaDNA), data management platforms (Oracle, Adobe, Salesforce), customer data platforms (Segment), CRM tools (Salesforce, Braze), tag managers (Adobe, Google), A/B testing tools and landing page optimization (Optimizely), tracking (Kochava, AppsFlyer) etc. 
  • Experience planning and buying linear paid media including television, CTV platforms
  • Expertise in developing attribution models including MTA, MMM and full-funnel tracking 
  • Incredible analytical and quantitative skills; brings a relentless data-driven approach to marketing
  • Must be comfortable  working in fast-moving, ever-changing environments; thrives in ambiguity; excited by building something new and meaningful

Additional Notes
For New York -based applicants: salary range is $220,000 - $330,000 USD. Other states may have different ranges.
