Team Manager, SDK 

The Team Manager, SDK is responsible for managing the development team for the Genvid SDK products and its components.  The Team Manager, SDK will be the contact point for all staff members on the team. The Team Manager should proactively, through effective leadership, ensure smooth and efficient team operations, productive communication and effective collaboration.


Reporting to the SDK Technical Director, in this role the ideal candidate will be responsible for the tasks and duties involved, but are not limited to:

  • Develop the skills and careers of your people, actively mentoring and supporting them.
  • Conduct performance evaluation and set goals for the team.
  • Collaborate with the PO, Technical Directors and Leadership to support the strategy and design of Genvid SDK solutions to ensure alignment of technology and performance with the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Accountable to the continuous improvement of the SDK team, using accepted and accurate metrics to form a high-performing team.
  • Accountable for the maintenance, availability, development, and reliability of the products and services of the team. 
  • Develop and implement standards and best practices in conjunction with Technical Director and co-managers.
  • Streamline development processes and brings consistency to SDK across teams
  • Help define the scope of the project and deliverables by estimating the impact in terms of workload and resources. 
  • Apply their experience to support the team in delivery of high quality SDK components 
  • Promote and foster technical excellence as well agile values and behaviors aligned with objectives and values of the company.
  • Help transfer product requirements into technical requirements. 
  • Manage the level 3 support
  • Stay current, learn, and help diffuse the knowledge of the different clients, projects and products of the company.
  • Learn, diffuse and maintain knowledge of the different tools and processes used across the company.
  • Participate and collaborate with the different processes and programs of the company to ensure their success.
  • Participate and collaborate to the continuous improvement of your team and the company.



Experience & Education

  • Fluency in French & English
  •  This role will partner with peers and colleagues in US therefore will require English Proficiency
  • 8+ years of proven experience in SDLC methodologies 
  • 5+ years of experience in Windows desktop environment 
  • 5+ years knowledge and experience in gaming, multimedia and middleware
  • 3+ years of management experience leading a high performing team 
  • Working knowledge of versioning tools (Git/Hg)
  • Experience in launching software or services in collaboration with Agile developed teams
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically while remaining hands-on
  • Good communication skills to clearly explain the problems and reach consensus 
  • Demonstrated effective leadership, analytical skills and strong business acumen 
  • Experience with Agile methodology 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and French 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment 
  • Strong work ethics with a positive attitude 
  • Creative problem-solving capabilities
  • A bachelor degree in computer science or engineering or any related field, or any related experience


Assets:

  • Experience developing supporting development tools for internal and external clients.
  • Experience with developing and supporting desktop software products on multiple platforms.
  • Demonstrated success autonomously managing complex projects that require input from many stakeholders.
